The parent company of Argos, Great Universal Stores (GUS), has swooped in to rescue troubled mobile internet portal breathe.com. Keeping 80 of the 140 staff at the firm for a technical and service development team, GUS has purchased the assets and technology of breathe.com for pounds 1.4 million. John Peace, chief executive of GUS, said: 'Breathe.com has been very advanced in developing multi-device access to the internet, with ease of use the top most priority.'
