According to a spokeswoman for production company Talkback Thames, 'all imaginable brands' from sectors including haircare, mobile, food, FMCG and utilities have sounded out the talent show's producers. 'We've been inundated with calls,' she said.

Despite the interest, however, Boyle, who has taken the show by storm, will not be able to sign any contracts until after the series ends later this month.

Boyle became a global phenomenon after singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les MisŽrables on the show last month. At the time of writing, the clip had been viewed more than 93.5m times on YouTube.

ITV is in talks with YouTube to examine ways to source revenue from the traffic along with Talkback Thames and Simon Cowell's company, Syco. Britain's Got Talent recently launched its own YouTube channel as a result of the talks.
