BR Video: Consumers more wary of organic food after FSA's verdict

LONDON - Some consumers said they would think again about buying organic food following the Food Standards Agency's latest research, which appeared to debunk its benefits -- watch the latest Brand Republic video now.

Interviewees were mixed in their opinions regarding whether the latest report from the FSA would influence their buying decisions.

Some said it would not influence their buying decisions while others said in light of the research, and pricing issues, they would think again.

"Organic is more expensive and if it's the same as the regular [food] then what is the point in buying the more expensive brand?"

Another said: "Sometimes you feel a bit inclined to buy the organic product, but personally I think if it looks good, looks like a good product, then I'll get it no matter what."

However, others believed that there will always be opposing views reported by the media and it was therefore important to "make your own decision".

One person said: "No, [it doesn't influence my decision to buy organic] because we are being told all sorts of things these days. I'd like to think of myself as a free thinker."
