Bollore adds the chairmanship of the media planning and buying agency to his existing role running Havas. The move underscores his interest in the media buying sector and his role as a potential bidder for UK media buying and research group Aegis.
Bollore owns 29% of Aegis, parent company of the Carat and Vizeum networks, and last year tried and failed to win representation on the company's board at an emergency general meeting in November.
The Havas chairman said he was ready to call further EGMs in an attempt to win boardroom representation after 58% of Aegis shareholders voted against Bollore's boardroom nominees, Roger Hatchuel and Philippe Germond.
It was the second time he had failed to win representation. He made his first move in June when he was defeated by the same percentage.
Bollore has the right to call another EGM within three months, which could mean a meeting is scheduled as early as March.
