Aegis shareholders reject Bollore for second time

LONDON - Aegis shareholders have again rejected shareholder Vincent Bollore's bid for two board seats, with the result very similar to the first vote in June.

The size of the vote against each of Bollore's candidates Philippe Germond and Roger Hatchuel was 58.5%.

The voting turnout was strong and slightly higher than June, when more than three quarters of shares were voted.

Again, 94% of the votes not controlled by the Havas chairman's own company Group Bollore were cast against his candidates.

Lord Sharman, chairman of the media and market research group, said: "This is once again an unequivocal outcome, on the back of a high turnout, showing the strength of shareholder feeling on an important corporate governance principle.

"The overall message is as clear now as it was earlier this year: board representation for a shareholder with close connections to a competitor is simply inappropriate.

"We hope that Group Bollore will respect the views of the clear majority of Aegis shareholders voting today."
