Bollore prepares bid for Harris Interactive

Vincent Bollore, the Havas chairman, is thought to be preparing a bid for the US market research company Harris Interactive.

He is understood to have held preliminary talks with Harris executives or representatives about possible acquisition.

According to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Bollore holds more than 6.6 million shares in Harris, a 12.4 per cent stake.

A possible deal is significant should Bollore successfully acquire Aegis and sell its Synovate research unit to WPP. Harris would fill the gap left by Synovate.
