Birmingham Mail partners bloggers for hyperlocal project

Trinity Mirror's Birmingham Mail has launched an ambitious hyperlocal project that could set the mould for future ventures.

It is partnering with a string of local bloggers whose content will be made available online and in the Mail's print edition.

will create of 34 hyperlocal sections hosted on the Birmingham Mail website, which will feature content from local blogs.

So far the paper has signed up 25 bloggers including Digbeth is Good, The Lichfield Blog and Bournville Village.

David Brookes, editor of the Birmingham Mail, said: "This is a truly innovative hyperlocal partnership and the response we have had so far has been fantastic.

"Many hyperlocal sites want to promote their area of Birmingham and we're confident we can help them with that, and at the same time develop a relationship which is beneficial to both sides, and ultimately, and most importantly the residents of Birmingham."
