Big Brother eviction postponed as 87 complain to Ofcom

LONDON - 'Big Brother' producers have decided to postpone tonight's eviction in order to allow time for the housemates to resolve their differences as a group after Thursday morning's spectacular bust-up.

The move comes after 87 complaints from the public regarding the incident were made to broadcast regulator Ofcom. The fight saw record viewing figures for this season of 'Big Brother' to date, with a peak of 7.3m viewers tuning in last night to catch up on the drama.

Channel 4 has said Emma and Victor will be given the opportunity later today to discuss their relationship away from the rest of the housemates. The pair have been at loggerheads for some time, but things came to a head earlier this week after a drink-fuelled food fight.

A spokesperson for Channel 4 has confirmed that Emma is still currently in the 'Big Brother' bedsit and could not confirm any further details of tonight's show at this stage.

Hertfordshire Police yesterday launched an investigation in the early hours of yesterday morning into the recent violence in the 'Big Brother' house, which saw security guards having to intervene on the show for the first time after Emma threatened to kill Victor and Jason threatened to kill Marco.

Channel 4 broadcast some of the scenes from the fight last night, but prefaced the show with a warning that some viewers might find it disturbing.

Vanessa and Daniel were both up for nomination this week. On Wednesday, bookmaker Ladbrokes named Vanessa as the odds-on favourite for the axe. Odds on Vanessa going are currently 2/7, but this may shortly change depending on developments in the house over the next week.

The nominations still stand however and votes will carry over to the eviction next Friday. There will be no further nominations next week.
