Behind the scenes: Dolce by Ferrero Rocher

Chocolate brand Ferrero Rocher opened its dessert pop-up 'Dolce by Ferrero Rocher' yesterday (1 December) in central London.

The pop-up aimed to provide guests with a multi-layed dining experience, which took diners on a journey, encouraging them to discover the different elements of Ferrero Rocher chocolate.

Guests were treated to five mini desserts, each one representing a separate layer of the chocolate. The experience began with a cocoa-roasted whole hazelnut wrapped in light praline mousse which was designed to represent the hazelnut core of the Ferrero Rocher.

The following dessert used a hazelnut and chocolate ganache to represent the next layer of the Ferrero Rocher, while the third sweet treat used a ganache sprinkled with wafer to give guests the experience of the chocolate's crispy shell.

A solid chocolate case was used for the fourth dessert, mirroring the chocolate's outer layer. The case melted when a hot liquid chocolate was poured over the top to reveal a silky ganache. The experience culminated with wisps of soft spun sugar dusted with edible gold glitter, depicting Ferrero Rocher's trademark gold foil.

A whole Ferrero Rocher chocolate was placed at the centre of the plate, inviting guests to discover how the flavours and textures come together to create the end result.

Each dining session lasts 45 minutes. The pop-up will be open until 11 December.
