The football star joins actress Scarlett Johansson and pop-star Beyonce Knowles in promoting Disney amusement parks around the world.
As part of Beckham's first steps into the world of Hollywood glamour, the footballer will be cast as 'Sleeping Beauty''s Prince Charming in an initiative to promote Disneyland and Walt Disney "World's year of a million dreams" campaign. The photoshoot took place at Disneyland in Paris earlier this year.
Knowles is cast as Alice from 'Alice in Wonderland', while actress Johansson plays Cinderella.
The image, shot by Annie Leibovitz photographer to the stars, in the campaign was photographed next to a lake outside Madrid, when the former England captain was playing for Real Madrid. The castle superimposed in the background is from Disneyland Paris.
Beckham said: "I'm the prince, and I'm sort of slaying a dragon, which is something I've never done before, obviously.
"When I was called about it and asked to do it. I was very honoured and really looking forward to it, especially with Annie doing the pictures."
He has now signed for Major Soccer League side LA Galaxy and will start at the end of the season in a reported $128m (£66m) five-year deal.
Beckham's move to the US could also lead to him renegotiating a brand ambassador deal with FMCG giant Gillette. Beckham's current £40m deal with Gillette expires later this year, with sportsmen Roger Federer, Thierry Henry and Tiger Woods taking on global roles.
