The Manchester United hero will be launching and helping to design a new range of clothes for boys aged six to 14. The range will be available in stores from September.
Beckham will be working alongside the Zip Project, the Northern Ireland-based company that designs and supplies Marks & Spencer's childrenswear.
The England captain is looking forward to working with M&S. He said: "For some time now I have been enjoying the creative side of my commercial work and when Marks & Spencer offered me the opportunity to actively assist in the design of clothing for youngsters, I was delighted. I want to help create the kind of clothes which I would have wanted to wear when I was younger."
Becks will be lending his name and image to the range. He already has sponsorship and advertising deals with Police sunglasses, Adidas sportswear, Rage Software and a £1m contract with Brylcreem.
No details of the advertising campaign have been decided as yet. James Murphy, managing partner at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R said that they had not yet begun work on the project.
However, it is unlikely that M&S will pass up the opportunity to use Beckham's image to promote the range. "Beckham is the perfect icon for this range," said Michele Jobling, managing director of the Zip Project. "Not only is he the number one sporting hero, but he is also a great style icon and role model."
Neither party are talking about money. But the deal is reported to be somewhat higher than the £1m a year the sports star gets from Brylcreem.
