BBH scoops Anna for Terminal 5 ad

LONDON - Bartle Bogle Hegarty has won the August ad of the month in the Awards for National Newspaper Advertising for its Heathrow Terminal 5 ad, following a record seven nominations.

The seven nominated ads were part of a campaign for British Airways to help repair the image of Heathrow Terminal 5 after its chaotic opening earlier this year.

The execution chosen as ad of the month was the one boasting "Yesterday at T5 average time through security was 4.7mins."

Nic Studzinski, Annas judge and creative director at Mother, also nominated six other ads in the campaign.

Studzinski said: "This was a press campaign where each ad was conceived, executed and delivered in less than 24 hours.

"Now I don't care which 'arena' you work in, that's quick. It's also a masterclass in restraint. No clever headlines. No clever visuals. Instead all we're left with is a clever idea. Remember those?"

The creative team behind the seven nominees, Brad Woolf, Dan Bailey and Pedro Alvarez, are in line for the £25,000 top prize at the Annas awards event in January.

The other August nominee was an ad by Wieden & Kennedy for Nike, featuring runner and 2012 Olympic hopeful Emily Pidgeon.

BBH's haul of seven nominations catapults the agency to the top of the national newspapers' creative league table for 2008 with 14 points, six ahead of DDB.
