BBCi expands interactive digital service with Your Stories

LONDON - The BBC is expanding its interactive digital offering with a new service called Your Stories, which will show viewers real-life stories made by people across the UK.

'Your Stories' is made up of programmes from two projects: 'Video Nation' and 'Digital Stories'.

'Video Nation' films feature individuals sharing moments of their lives, ranging from the bizarre, humorous and moving. 'Digital Stories' brings together people to tell their stories with the help of laptop computers and other equipment.

Your Stories will appear on page 5670 of BBCi digital satellite and has been commissioned by BBC New Media and developed by BBC Nations and Regions.

It is available by pressing the red button on the digital remote control, no matter which BBC channel the viewer is on.

Rahul Chakkara, controller of BBCi, said: "The BBCi audience is maturing, and is looking for content that is social and highly involving, available to them whenever they want.

"Your Stories is the beginning of our efforts to meet this need. We go beyond involvement through interaction and we involve our audiences by encouraging them to produce their own content."
