The showcase will be the first one to be held at the north-west venue and plans to attract more than 640 international TV buyers and actors from BBC shows including Inside Men and Sherlock.
Now in its 36th year, the BBC’s annual programme export showcase generates around £50m of programme export revenue annually.
"We’ve had a phenomenal response to our first showcase in Liverpool," said Steve Macallister, president of sales and distribution, BBC Worldwide. "With a significant increase in delegates from America and Asia and many digital clients attending for the first time we have exceeded our expectations and look forward to welcoming a record breaking number of delegates to this iconic city."
New programmes such as Parade’s End, Attenborough’s Life Stories, Brazil with Michael Palin and Sinbad will be unveiled as buyers seek out the next international hit. Special evening launches highlighting key titles and co-production forums that help generate investment into ambitious British productions are all part of the event.
For the first time at the showcase, buyers are invited to attend a bespoke conference dedicated to digital.
