The enhanced TV service will allow viewers to access additional interactive content linked to the TV programmes they are watching.
BBC Prime broadcasts the BBC's most popular programmes such as 'EastEnders', 'Parkinson', 'The Weakest Link' and 'Top of the Pops' to more than 10.2m subscribers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Viewers will also be able to check programme schedules, read articles about their favourite TV personalities and view related merchandise.
Wayne Dunsford, director of channels EMEA at BBC Worldwide, said: "This is an important development for BBC Prime as we seek to make our channel even more accessible and relevant to our customers and audience. Mindhouse is designing an application that will add value and enjoyment to the channel."
BBC is working with interactive TV operation Mindhouse to deliver the new services.
BBC Prime is part of BBC Worldwide, the BBC's commercial division.
