The BBC has launched a TV ad to promote its coverage of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R created the spot, which features the Game Of Thrones actor Charles Dance as the narrator and highlights how athletes will have to battle the elements as well as each other. As the voice of nature, Dance recites lines such as "I am the dreadful menace" while a group of athletes – including a ski-jumper, a snowboarder and a speed-skater – climb a mountain in a blizzard and then show off their skills on the harsh terrain. The spot ends with the line: "Nature. Who will conquer it?" It was created by Barnaby Blackburn and Gustavo Kopit, and directed by Tomek Baginski through Stink and Red Bee Media. Post-production has handled by Juice and Platige.
