One key change is that visitors to BBCfocusmagazine.com will now be able to comment on every area of the site. Another new feature is a fully searchable database of Focus Q&A, the magazine's guide to certain key issues, which the BBC said is one of the most popular sections of the magazine.
The archive will give users the opportunity to search online for the answers to science and technology questions.
BBC Focus, which is 15 years old, was previously owned by NatMags, before BBC Magazines acquired it in 2001.
Focus's video service, Focus TV, will be updated every fortnight, while a reader forum and regular polls will allow users to become involved in the latest scientific debate, interact with other readers, and offer feedback on the magazine.
Jheni Osman, editor of Focus, claims the new-look site is "the sci-tech website to shout about".
