Pop music heavyweights Leona Lewis, Tinie Tempah, Florence & The Machine and Plan B are among acts that will perform across six stages.
BBC senior audience planner for London 2012 Ade Adeluwoye wrote on his blog that the weekend will be "possibly the most ambitious live music event in the station's history."
The BBC also announced that Olympics theme tune written by band Elbow will debut at the opening day of the Olympics, along with a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the BBC Proms.
