Chefs from the nearby Michelin-starred Sharrow Bay will show off their culinary expertise, preparing dishes with a distinctly Cumbrian flavour.
"We are thrilled to have been able to link together some of the nation’s best food producers and high calibre chefs with such a massive event on the music calendar," said SK Events director Denise Harris.
"Bringing the Taste Cumbria brand to Radio 1’s Big Weekend is very exciting for everyone involved and we cannot wait to see what the world’s biggest musicians think of what we have to offer," she added.
Radio 1’s Big Weekend is the UK’s biggest free ticketed festival.
This weekend 40,000 music fans will be able to enjoy performances from international artists including, My Chemical Romance, Plan B, Foo Fighters, Tinie Tempah and Ellie Goulding.
