The second series of the show, aimed at the soap's younger fans, will run on the 'EastEnders' website this summer in 10, 14-minute episodes, and in five televised shows on BBC Three in September.
The series is written by the young writers, all aged between 17 and 22, who were responsible for the first series. It is also set in Albert Square and focuses on four new young characters who live in a flat above the beauty salon run by 'Eastenders' character Roxy.
The first series of 'EastEnders: E20', which aired in January, received more than three million requests on the soap’s website and on BBC iPlayer, and received half a million views on the BBC Red Button interactive service, according to figures from the broadcaster.
Simon Nelson, controller of portfolio and multiplatform at BBC Vision, said: "We had no hesitation in commissioning another series, something which will delight the 17,000 fans who have been calling for more episodes on the E20 Facebook page."
The first series of 'EastEnders: E20' will be repeated on BBC Three in three 30-minute episodes from Friday 23 April at 8.30pm, directly after the soap finishes on BBC One.
