Barclaycard to give away holidays to consumers who spoof 'Waterslide' ad

LONDON - Barclaycard is inviting customers to create spoof versions of its 'Waterslide' TV ad campaign for the chance to win a trip to ride some of the world's largest waterslides in Dubai, China, Brazil, Germany and the US.

The original ad, which promotes the brand's contactless payment service launched last autumn, and will return to screens this weekend for a five-week run. The finance brand will also launch its own spoof of the ad on YouTube and is urging its customer to follow suit.

The ad has already been spoofed by Specsavers, whose ad shows a man leaving the office by hurling himself down a garbage chute before landing in a skip. The viral closes with the optician's tagline ‘Should have gone to Specsavers'.

The ad also boasts its own Facebook groups, which, according to Barclaycard, have attracted more than 100,000 online ‘friends'.
