Bank of Scotland calls creative pitch

The Bank of Scotland has kicked off a search for an ad agency as it looks to shift its marketing activity from above-the-line to digital.

Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R was awarded the brand’s £8m account without a pitch in 2009 after the bank’s parent, HBOS, was bought by Lloyds TSB to form Lloyds Banking Group.

Lloyds Bank, the flagship Lloyds Banking Group brand in the UK, ended its 13-year relationship with RKCR/Y&R last year and handed its ad business to Adam & Eve/DDB.

The Bank of Scotland has invited RKCR/Y&R to repitch. Requests for information were sent out earlier this month and asked for digital expertise. Chemistry meetings were held last week in a process run by AAR.

Lloyds Banking Group reappointed MEC to its media account in 2015.

A Bank of Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that the Bank of Scotland is pitching for a digitally centric agency to work on its business."
