Asda appoints The Search Works for online marketing

LONDON - Asda has appointed The Search Works to provide search engine marketing expertise for its online marketing campaigns.

The supermarket giant said that search engine marketing would allow it to target consumers more effectively, and that hiring a specialist agency to handle its website, , was part of that aim.

Adam Culkin, online marketing manager at Asda, said: "We chose The Search Works over other full-service media agencies because of its expertise in this area. From the outset, The Search Works has demonstrated a passion for the Asda business."

He added that Asda hoped its deal with The Search Works would allow it to steadily increase website visibility and drive more traffic on to the site.

Sonia Bercel, new business director at The Search Works, added: "This is a significant new client and one that brings with it an incredible range of retailing expertise which we can learn from and make our offerings for this industry better."

Clients of Search Works, which was founded in 1999, include Scottish Power, Carphone Warehouse, Eurostar and Trinity Mirror.
