Arsenal spectators to see live match footage via Sony's PSP

LONDON - Arsenal fans attending home games next season will be able to watch replays of key moments taking place in front of them on PlayStation Portable gaming consoles after the football club struck a deal with Sony.

The service, which has been created and tested successfully by Sony, allows fans at the Emirates Stadium to watch live streaming video of a match, with a five-second delay, access data and statistics, and view instant replays.

The stream will be available only within the stadium -- a disc distributed inside will be required to access it. The wireless signal used to broadcast the footage will be locked to stop fans watching the games on their consoles in a pub around the corner.

Arsenal spectators could be using the service by the beginning of next season.

Sony is reportedly in talks with other clubs across Europe to arrange similar deals.
