Promoter E22 Sports is taking Arenacross – a mixture of professional motocross racing and freestyle motocross that is held in large arenas – on a four-week tour of UK venues.
After the first date at The O2, the Arenacross UK tour will visit Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on 19 January, The LG Arena in Birmingham’s NEC on 2 February and The Echo Arena in Liverpool on 10 February.
Some of the world’s top riders will appear, such as former world champion Andre Villa. Also taking part is Edgar Torronteras, the Spanish freestyle motocross rider famed for his ‘whip’ move where he turns his 100kg motorcycle backwards and upside down.
Each event will be featured on British Eurosport as well as in a series on Channel 4.
Arenacross is an indoor version of motocross racing that was first conceived in the US in the 1970s at the LA Coliseum stadium. It takes place on purpose-built dirt tracks with huge jumps, mogul sections and banked corners, designed to entertain an audience from their seats.
