The deal gives Archant six new monthly lifestyle titles as the group continues its strategic growth plan, which has seen it become the largest privately owned UK local and regional newspaper group.
The sale of Highbury's local magazine business follows the deal announced in February, which will see Highbury House, publisher of Front, Fast Car and Real Homes, bought by Future for £31.6m.
The magazines being sold have a total circulation of nearly 400,000 and are distributed to homes in North, West and South London. The main brands are: Southwest; The Hill; The Guide; Living South; The Green; and Northwest.
The titles will now join the Archant Life group of county and town-based magazines under managing director Johnny Hustler.
The transaction also includes Highbury's Property Mart series of three free adverting-driven titles in West Essex, South Essex and East London. These will join the Archant London stable under managing director Enzo Testa.
In February, Archant Specialist, its consumer magazine division, acquired Romsey Publishing Group, owner of monthly magazine titles including The English Garden, The English Home and Canal Boat.
Archant chief executive John Fry said: "This acquisition fits our growth strategy perfectly, coming directly after our recent purchase of Romsey Publishing.
"We have a clear local community publishing ethos and we will continue to seek purchases, launches and organic growth that add good quality community publications to our fast-growing portfolio."
The group is aiming to expand its presence in the UK by layering magazines, newspaper and local websites.
The newspapers division, Archant Regional, produces four daily regional newspapers and more than 85 weekly titles with a combined circulation of 3m every week.
