Romsey Publishing was established in 1984 by managing director Paul Dobson and publishes seven consumer titles and related contract titles out of offices in Wokingham and London.
Included in the acquisition are The English Home, which has an ABC of 86,092, The English Garden on 75,433, Heritage on 64,514, Canal Boat, Sporting Shooter, Air Gunner and Airgun World.
All its titles, along with all 70 staff members, will transfer to Archant Specialist under the direction of its managing director Farine Clarke and will remain in their current location for the immediate future.
Clarke said: "Archant is committed to growth through magazines. Having
established a clear strategy of publishing titles in niche markets supported by positive trends, we identified Romsey as presenting a unique opportunity.
"We are delighted to have acquired an established and successful portfolio of titles with such a great reputation and potential for further growth."
Archant Specialist currently publishes the UK's largest imaging portfolio including Photography Monthly and Which Digital Camera, alongside specialist leisure titles such as Pilot and Sport Diver.
