Angela Spindler exits Debenhams

LONDON - Debenhams managing director Angela Spindler is leaving the company on 30 November, only ten months after she joined, as part of a management reshuffle.

Spindler joined the department store in February and assumed responsibility for its marketing and branding. Debenham's chief operating officer, Michael Sharp, will take on the role of deputy chief executive and will be responsible for marketing and online business. 

Suzanna Harlow, who is currently trading director for womenswear, lingerie, women's accessories, health and beauty will be appointed group trading director and will be responsible for buying and merchandising.

Spindler previously worked as George's global managing director and was responsible for signing Coleen McLoughlin as the face of the label.  She has also held senior positions at Cabury Schweppes and Pedigree Masterfoods.
