Amnesty boosts awareness through e-card website

LONDON - The Irish arm of human rights charity Amnesty International has launched an 'e-card' site in its latest fundraising effort.

The charity is providing e-cards - electronic greetings cards sent by email - for free, however users are encouraged to make a donation to or join the charity.

Four themes of card are to be offered on : Christmas, Irish, Love and Friendship and general greetings cards.

Lino Olivieri, trading manager at Amnesty International Ireland, said that the launch of the site was aimed at boosting interest in the Irish branch of the charity's online presence.

"We believe that free e-cards are an ideal way of attracting large numbers of visitors to our site, so publicising worldwide the work of Amnesty International's Irish operation. We see e-cards as a very important part of our marketing facilities now and in the future," he added.

The cards and website were created by Irish marketeers CARDmarket. The organisation, supported by The Crafts Council of Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland aims to promote Irish craft designers and illustrators
