Agencies line up for Ikea digital ad brief

Ikea is reviewing its pan-European digital advertising account.

The Swedish furniture manufacturer currently works with a variety of agencies on its digital activity across Europe. The online business includes working on the Ikea e-commerce website and social media advertising.

Last month, Ikea called a pitch to find an agency to handle its direct marketing account. The pro­cess is being handled by the AAR.
Ikea shifted its £8 million advertising business from Beattie McGuinness Bungay to Mother in January.

Mother’s appointment followed that of Cake and Vizeum, which were handed the PR and media planning and buying accounts respectively at the end of last year.

Ikea launched the last ad to be created by BMB in April. The ad follows the Ikea Kitchen Squad as they kidnap a kitchen, destroy it before the owner’s eyes and then rebuild it as an Ikea kitchen.
