Age UK is unveiled as new name for merged Age Concern and Help the Aged

LONDON - Age UK will be the name for the charity formed by the merger of Age Concern and Help the Aged in April.

The charity registered under the legal name of Age UK when it merged in April. It has announced today that this is the name it will use when the charity officially relaunches next Spring.

The charity researched three potential new names for the charity: Agenda, Age Matters and Age UK.

Regional organisations will use the names Age Scotland, Age NI and Age Cymru.

The merged charity appointed Corporate Edge in January to develop its new identiy. Karmarama and Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw were hired to jointly handle its creative account for the launch in August.

Age UK is the biggest organisation for older people in the UK. It  has an annual turnover of £150m and more than 500 charity shops throughout the UK.
