The media group is making 10 redundancies from its Vizeum International and Aegis Media international headquarters. However, it said it is investing heavily in its Isobar digital unit.
Jerry Buhlmann, the chief executive of Aegis Media Europe, Middle East and Africa, said that the majority of the redundancies would be voluntary and that none of the departing staff were in client facing roles.
Isobar, the digital unit of Aegis which owns agencies including glue London and the Australian business OneDigital, will be hiring a total of 20 staff to work on its international business, meaning a net increase of 10 staff across Aegis' international operations.
Buhlmann said: "We are refocusing resource in all the things that we do. It makes sense to make an investment in such a fast growing business as Isobar."
Last week Aegis announced record profits for 2005 of £94m, a rise of 2.3% on the previous year.
