Orlov is being replaced by Alan Brydon, the former managing director of Tempus-owned media planning and buying agency CIA where he, at one point, worked with Mike Anderson, managing director of free London newspaper Metro, who was bought into replace De la Bedoyere.
Brydon was axed from CIA by then chief executive David Wheldon along with business development director Kevin Shute.
Following his exit from CIA, Brydon set up Accelerator Media, a new-media investment company with Phillip McDannell, formerly operations director Yahoo! Europe and managing director of Chrysalis Group.
Orlov's departure is the latest in a large exodus at the newspaper since Veronica Wadley took over as editor after Max Hastings left at the beginning of the year.
Orlov and De la Bedoyere, who had been at the paper for 17 years, have been the most high-profile executives to leave their jobs so far. At least a dozen journalists have also lost or left their jobs. Orlov is not thought to have another job to go to.
Orlov had been with Associated Newspapers since 1994, working first on the Financial Mail and then the Mail on Sunday.
