According to industry reports, Adobe has given the search engines optimised Flash player technology. It claims that this will help companies to better index dynamic web content and rich internet applications including the Flash file or Shockwave Flash formats.
Google has already added the optimised Flash Player to its search engine, while Yahoo! plans to add the technology to a future update of its site.
This week, the US Department of Justice started a formal investigation into competition concerns over an advertising tie-up between the search engines. It followed a deal struck between search giants last month for Google to put some search advertising next to Yahoo's search listings.
Google currently controls 60% of the total number of internet searches made in the US, while Yahoo! is in second place, accounting for 16.6%.
