Adidas 'Originality' ad takeover sparks online whimper

LONDON - Adidas' takeover of an entire E4 'Skins' ad break for its 'House Party' follow up got a mixed reaction online, following its debut last night, capping a miserable week for its star David Beckham.

The new ad, made by Canada-based creative agency Sid Lee, is called 'Street Where Originality Lives'.

The ad features a mix of DJ sets, live performances and street games, all set to a remix of Dee Edwards' 'Why can't there be love?' by Pilooski, and includes Snoop performing, Beckham shooting pictures on his camera, and Gallagher busking in the street.

On Twitter some were impressed by Adidas' takeover of the whole break:

I love adidas and the way they paid for the entire ad break during skins lol
Bloody hell! Adidas bought an entire advertisement break during Skins.
Did Adidas really just hijack an entire ad break?!! They must be minted!!

As ever, several people were provoked to fury:

WTF is this piece of shit Adidas ad on during the #skins break? Focus grouped into meaninglessness. LAME.
What's going on with this stupid adidas ad break during #skins ? V annoying
adidas fuck off and put skins back on

BR could only find around 15 tweets mentioned Adidas and Skins, though many more came from people to linking the ad on YouTube.
