Adconion hires Cox for global marketing role

LONDON - Online ad network Adconion Media Group has expanded its global corporate team with two new appointments.

The network has poached another executive from Yahoo with the hiring of Joanne Cox, who previously headed Yahoo's European trade marketing after its acquisition of Blue Lithium in September 2007. Cox joins Adconion as global marketing director and will be responsible for global corporate marketing and PR.

Cox brings extensive experience to the role with her 11-year career in media and consultancy. She was a media account director at Wheel/LBi, and a business marketing manager at Orange, also in its previous guises as Freeserve and Wanadoo. She also spent four years overseeing marketing and communications at 24/7 Real Media.

Separately, Adconion has appointed Luis Morcillo as global corporate counsel, to advise the network on corporate and commercial law issues.

Qualified to practise in both the UK and Spain, Morcillo previously worked as a senior associate at the London office of American law firm Paul Hastings, advising financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies.
