Adam & Eve/DDB and AMV BBDO lead Cannes Film shortlist

UK agencies have received 26 nominations in the Film category at Cannes, with Adam & Eve/DDB and Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO given five each.

Adam&Eve/DDB, which won last year's Film Grand Prix for Harvey Nichols' "Shoplifters", received five nominations this year for Volkswagen's "Alien". John Lewis' Christmas ad "Buster the boxer", the AA's "Designated driver", H&M's Wes Anderson-directed Christmas ad "Come together" (above) and Save the Children's "Every last child".

Omnicom stablemate Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has also been shortlisted five times for Galaxy's "The chase", Quaker's "From the mighty oat", Nicorette's "One breath", Lotto's "Let's be Blunt, please not them" and Dolmio's "Look up".

Droga5 London has been shortlisted three times – twice for Uniqlo and once for Baywatch for Paramount Films.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty London also received two nominations for Virgin Media and Mentos.

4Creative, Brothers & Sisters, Grey London, Havas London and AKQA London were also shortlisted in a category that received a total of 271 entries. 

US agencies dominated the category with 101 shortlisted entries.
