192.com expands database with 2006 electoral roll

LONDON - Directory service 192.com has added the UK 2006 Electoral Roll to its database, allowing more in-depth searches for people and businesses.

The addition of 29.8m records from the Electoral Roll will bring the total number of searchable records on the database to more than 500m. 192.com said its database technology would allow for more in-depth searches, making it easier for users to search people by name, street name and postcode.

Keith Marsden, managing director at 192.com, said: "The addition of 2006's electoral roll records is the next stage in our mission to provide the most up to date and comprehensive set of information possible."

Established in 1997 by CEO Alastair Crawford, 192.com provides its 4m registered users with comprehensive residential and business information and access to the complete UK telephone directory.
