
The number of videos being viewed every day around the world has increased 25% from eight months ago.
Google has not broken out how many of these videos are monetised through advertising. Its most recently available statistics, from February last year, showed that three billion video views per week were being monetised at the time.
The figures come at a time when , which will see it roll out more than 100 new channels, containing professional content, over the year.
As part of this investment, Google relaunched the YouTube site towards the end of last year.
In its latest financial results, Google reported revenues of $10bn (£6.46bn) for the fourth quarter of 2011, while its UK revenues exceeded $1bn.
Total ad revenues were $10.2bn (£6.59bn) during the last quarter of 2011, but the company did not provide details of how much revenue was made from YouTube.
