Young's Seafood introduces 'green' packaging for its fish pie line

The company said the move is part of its sustainability drive and that the new packs use 12% less packaging.

Young's claims its Admiral's Pie is the UK's best-selling frozen ready meal. Seven other products will also be affected by the packaging change.

Matt Whelan, marketing manager for Young's, said: ‘We had to do significant in-store testing to ensure that the visibly smaller pack was properly communicated and did not negatively affect consumer perceptions of the product.'
