YooMedia still searching to build revenues

Interactive TV company Yoo-Media has recorded a turnover of just £9,184 in the first half of this year.

However, the firm's chief executive, Michael Sinclair, said he is confident the business is about to move into a "revenue-generating phase".

The company almost quadrupled its turnover from £2,183 in the same period last year. However, it recorded a pre-tax loss of nearly £3m, with more than £3m spent on continuing activities.

Deputy chairman and finance director Frank Lewis said revenue will be driven by the firm's chat and games services, which operate on platforms including Sky Active. A games portal and chat service called YooMe2 is due to launch on Telewest within the next few months.
