Yell hands creative pitch over to Kehoe

Catherine Kehoe, the Yell head of marketing strategy and communications, has taken the reins of the directories publisher's ongoing pitch.

Mother and VCCP are in the final stages of the review. A decision is expected imminently.

The move follows the abrupt departure of the Yell chief marketing officer, Ann Francke, as first revealed by ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 on Brand Republic. Francke left her post the day she returned from holiday.

Francke's departure throws the pitch brief into question, with insiders close to the account predicting that the brief will change. Francke was the foremost driver for a change of direction for Yell's advertising, including the dropping of its popular brand spokesman, the actor James Nesbitt.

Francke joined Yell in April 2004. She was previously the strategic marketing officer at Boots, a position she held for just eight months before she was ousted, again mid-pitch, as part of a company restructure.

The Yell review was called in April after the directories publisher ended its 23-year relationship with Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO. Conflict with AMV's BT account was cited as the motive for the split.
