Yell appoints BT marketing chief

Yell has poached Catherine Kehoe, head of strategy and marketing at arch-rival BT's business division, for the new role of marketing director.

Kehoe will report to chief UK marketing officer Ann Francke, who joined the directories publisher in April last year. She will be responsible for handling Yell's £13m UK ad budget.

The hire fuels speculation that Francke is being groomed for a wider global remit. In the US, the business is run using the brand Yellow Book.

Kehoe had previously held the post of head of marketing communications, handling BT's roster of agencies - Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, St Luke's and Fallon - across its £100m adspend.

Yell refused to comment.
