In two television ads, people are shown with the search bar in everyday situations, such as riding on the subway, attending classes or running meetings.

As well as the Times Square billboard, there will be outdoor posters in Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco; and an online campaign across the Yahoo! network, as well as , and .

The campaign was created by Black Rocket Euro RSCG, Yahoo!'s agency of record.

Murray Gaylord, vice-president of brand marketing at Yahoo!, said: "The Yahoo! Search campaign is designed to connect people closer to the search experience and illustrates how Yahoo! Search enables them to find what they are looking for in every segment of their lives.

"Bringing the search experience to life through the campaign underscores the benefits of searching on Yahoo!, while leveraging the established, trusted relationship users already have with Yahoo!."

The last US television advertising campaign for Yahoo! promoted its online singles service.
