Yahoo! marketing chief quits

Yahoo! Europe marketing director Catherine Taylor has quit unexpectedly after only three months in the job.

Taylor was promoted in February from her role as head of marketing in the UK and Ireland and has said that personal reasons lay behind her decision.

She reported to UK sales and marketing chief Fru Hazlitt, who was also promoted at the same time. Yahoo! is not expected to name a direct replacement for Taylor in the short term, while Hazlitt continues to review the management structure of the European sales and marketing team.

Yahoo! Europe is also continuing its search for a new managing director following the resignation of Fabiola Arredondo in February, with a decision expected sometime in July.
