Yahoo! has upgraded its search system for the service, which will act as a personal video recorder by saving the user's favourite TV channels.
The new service aims to encourage people using Yahoo! to upload videos and will allow them to subscribe to video "channels" that are continuously updated with new content.
The service will also feature news channels from ABC News and CBS's '60 Minutes', as well as videos from the Discovery Channel and CNN.
Earlier this year, Yahoo! launched a test version of Go TV, which allows people to view Yahoo! videos on any PC-connected television screen.
The internet giant is following in the footsteps of California-based video search company YouTube, which was founded by two former developers at online payments company PayPal and attracts tens of millions of monthly users.
Jason Zajac, general manager of social media at Yahoo!, said the company decided to host videos in order to enhance users' experience and create more advertising opportunities.
