The project, funded by rail company High Speed One, is part of St Pancras International's Christmas celebrations. Other attractions have included choirs and decorations.

Ice sculptures at the station have taken on a Christmas theme with X-Factor being chosen because it traditionally culminates during the Yuletide season.

"It's a wonderful looking station and we've been looking to make it feel 'Christmasy'. We have a footfall of around 90,000 on a Friday and we're hoping the X-Factor sculptures will tap into the public's imagination as the final of X-Factor is this weekend," said a London Communications spokesperson.
