WPP's Research International appoints Bond as chief executive

LONDON - WPP Group-owned Research International has promoted Julian Bond, the former head of the research firm's marketing science group, to the role of chief executive of its UK operation.

He will report to Mark Cranmer, Research International's worldwide chief executive.

Bond, who will continue to serve as a board director at the company, joined the WPP-owned research firm in 1982 and leads a team of quantitative researchers working at local centres across the world.

Cranmer said: "[Julian] has been instrumental in driving Research International's new thinking and techniques over the past 20 years.

"With his knowledge of the company and clients he is exceptionally placed to drive the UK company forward at this exciting period in its history.鈥

Earlier this month, Cranmer replaced Roger Banks as global chief executive. Banks left the organisation in February.

Bond said: "It's a great privilege to be leading the company that I love."

"As a group, we have a clear strategy moving forward -- my aim is to achieve the full implementation of this strategy within our UK business."
