Thailand experienced a huge increase in cases of dengue fever in 2015 - conservative estimates suggest more than 130,000 cases and almost 140 fatalities.

To alleviate the crisis, the Duang Prateep Foundation and BBDO Bangkok came up with the idea to take advantage of something that’s in plentiful supply in Thailand – motorcycles. The MotoRepellent device can be attached to exhaust pipes and, when heated, emits a mosquito-repelling scent into the air. To start, 20 units have been created, with the hope that a sponsor comes forward to fund wider production. Either way, it’s a fine example of creativity solving a real problem.
