Young & Rubicam has been appointed to handle the launch of GTV, a pan-African satellite pay-TV service. The Ayton Young & Rubicam Group in Nairobi will develop the integrated campaign, while Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R in London will offer planning and strategic support.

Julian McIntyre, the managing director of Gateway Broadcast Services and founder of GTV, said: "Consumers across Africa want to watch high-quality TV programming that combines international and local content."

Chris Harrison (pictured), the chairman of Young & Rubicam Brands Africa, described the deal as a chance to "enhance the leisure lives of millions of people across Africa".
